Meet Coach Krysta
In mindfulness I found connection. In movement I found healing. In sharing these with others, I found a purpose.
It was a normal Tuesday morning my sophomore year in college. I was brushing my teeth and getting ready for the day when all of a sudden my left arm started to go numb. The numbness traveled up my arm, through my neck and face, and eventually my whole face and left torso were numb and tingling. I seriously thought I was having a stroke.
My roommate rushed me to the ER and after a slew of tests and continued numbness, the doctor came in my room, told me I had a panic attack and that it was just anxiety. He then gave me a prescription of Xanax and sent me on my way. Naturally, I didn’t believe him. I’d never had anxiety before. What did that even mean? For the next few months I underwent MRIs, scans and assessments all to find out what the ER doctor knew from the start - I had anxiety disorder.
The next 4 years I carried on as most college students do. I slept little, ate poorly and my biggest form of exercise was dancing at bars on Friday nights. All the while, I had weekly bouts of anxiety that would come on without warning and for reasons I couldn’t pinpoint. The tingling continued, I’d break down in tears out of the blue but the absolute worst part was the heaviness that weighed down my chest. The anxiety was ruthless and it felt like I was completely disconnected from myself and from the world.
It was finally when I went to grad school that it all changed. I set a New Year’s resolution to exercise regularly, like millions of people do. What started out as a goal to feel more confident in my body, to feel stronger and leaner, ended up changing my life!
Exercising inspired me to focus more on nutrition and how I fuel my body. After about 6 months of consistent exercise and a healthy balance of home cooked meals and not-so-healthy late night or weekend takeout, I realized that I had barely felt any anxiety in the last 6 months. Not only did I feel stronger and healthier, but more importantly, my mental state was clearer; lighter. I felt boundless. It not only lit a spark, but ignited my life’s passion!
After beginning a corporate America career in Human Resources, I also threw myself into all things fitness, nutrition and self-development. I couldn’t consume enough podcasts, books and education. Fast forward through a personal training certification, Health Coaching credential, Tony Robbins and Lewis Howes’ School of Greatness summits and deep research on the mind-body connection, I’m thrilled to be working with others to help them find the mental and physical lightness and connection that I’ve been so fortunate to experience.
Everyone deserves to live their most beautiful, boundless life! My purpose is to help people to get that beautiful life by removing barriers that get in the way of it. Health and wellness is my vehicle for this purpose, because I deeply believe the most impactful way to remove barriers is through physical and mental health.
We all already have the strengths, the solutions and the motivation within us. When we have a powerful enough “why,” when we have clarity on our values and when we create a mindset where we believe anything is possible, we are truly capable of anything.
We are capable of soaring!
